Instructions for preparation of full papers
GENERAL
The conference proceedings will be produced using electronic copy. Please keep rigidly to these instructions and supply final papers as MS Word files (.doc or .docx). Send a copy in PDF format in case the organisers have queries about layout etc. If in doubt please use the style and layout of these instructions as a guide. Papers should be written in good English. Use a traditional serifed typeface, preferably Times Roman, and a 12 point type size for the main text. Full text justification should be used if possible.
A margin of 25.4 mm (or 1 inch) should be allowed all round based on the A4 paper size setting, i.e. the text area should not exceed 158 x 245 mm (or 6.27 x 9.69 inches). Note ISO A4 paper is 210 x 297 cm (8.27 x 11.69 inches).
Papers should not exceed Twelve (12) pages in length including any figures, tables and appendices. Pages should NOT be numbered. They must be submitted to the InterCEPt e-mail account by 4th June 2010 for final review and to ensure inclusion in the proceedings.
LAYOUT
Use Bold 16pt for the title (centre justified and use Title Case, not UPPER CASE).
Please provide the following information for all authors: First (given) name; surname (family name); institution (or company); country. Put your family name before your given name(s) if it is usual for you to do so. Use 14pt not bold (centre justified) for the author’s name and affiliation.
Leave a 12pt space before the title, before the author’s name and before the affiliation (as indicated).
ABSTRACT
A brief abstract of not more than 300 words should be provided before the main body of the paper. This will be an abbreviated, accurate, representation of the contents of the paper. Major results and conclusions should be given, followed by supporting details of research method, purpose etc. Increase the margin to 31mm (1.2 inches) either side of the abstract only. Leave 2 x 12pt spaces before the abstract.
HEADINGS
All headings should start from the left hand margin and be in bold type but not underlined. Use upper case for the main headings and do not number them. Lower order headings should have all words (except conjunctions etc.) starting with a capital letter and may (if required) be identified using small Roman numerals (i.e. i, ii etc.). Allow a 12pt space between headings and text as well as between paragraphs.
REFERENCES
Referencing should be “Harvard” style (i.e. author surname and year of publication in the text; ordered alphabetically by surname in the reference list).
Journal Articles
Author's surname(s) followed by initials, year, 'title of article', journal title, volume and issue number, page numbers.
Books or Reports
Author’s (or editor’s) surname(s) followed by initials, year, title, publisher, place of publication.
Chapters in Books or Papers in Proceedings
Author's surname(s) and initials, year, 'chapter or paper title', In .... surname and initials of book's editor, title, publisher, place of publication; page numbers; (year).
DIAGRAMS AND TABLES
These should be contained within the main body of the text provided the overall length of TWELVE pages is not exceeded. They should be located close to their reference and referred to as "Figure 1” or "Table 1" etc. They should start by the left hand margin. Captions should be positioned BELOW the DIAGRAMS and ABOVE the TABLES and typed, bold, in lower case.
ADDRESS FOR CORRESPONDENCE
Please supply ONE name and address for correspondence after the references and before any appendices.
APPENDICES
If there are any appendices they should appear at the very end of the paper.
